Annie Avilés is a writer and editorial consultant who works with teams to create compelling, immersive podcasts. Clients include Sony, Spotify, and Vice, where she co-founded Vice Audio.

Annie started out as a correspondent in South America, where she covered resource conflict and environmental disaster from across the continent. In her independent work outside of consulting, she continues to write about these issues, with a focus on how people confront disaster. She’s produced stories for The Atlantic, Harper’s, The New Yorker, and others; her work has earned multiple awards, including a Murrow, a Fulbright, and investigative fellowships from Johns Hopkins, NYU, and UC Berkeley. Bilingual in English and Spanish, she works in both languages.

Currently, she’s consulting on a new show set to launch in 2025. If you’re interested in working together in 2026, please reach out via the form below.
